Alongside the WOOD, the CLASSIC model is one of the original models that we developed together with Eckart Meyners over 20 years ago. Simple design without frills, low weight of 4.5 KG and therefore ideal as a seating alternative to the conventional office chair. When the BALIMO® is sent on a break and the executive chair is used, the BALIMO®CLASSIC is quickly pushed under the desk and awaits its next appearance for active sitting.

- The BALIMO® philosophy and information on the seat surface: The 360° joint of the BALIMO®, which can move completely freely, is embedded in the seat plate and is a direct extension of the spine. The point of movement of the BALIMO® is therefore as close as pain-free possible to the body's natural point of movement - the pelvis. By balancing on the seat surface, the muscles that lie deep under the outer back muscles and cannot be voluntarily tensed (autochthonous), which are responsible for natural posture, are trained. The slightly padded seat surface also stimulates the deeper back muscles by applying pressure to the acupuncture points located at the ischial tuberosities, thus additionally stimulating the functions of the back muscles. The pelvic floor muscles are also autochthonous and are sensitized and trained by the variety of movement possibilities of the pelvis on the BALIMO® The seat surface provides pressure on the acupuncture points responsible for the deeper back muscles, for a quickly noticeable effect, especially in the lower back area.

Completely new sitting experience
I was very skeptical at first and it took some getting used to at first, until I got used to the "new way of sitting". However, I wouldn't want to do without it any more, because you very quickly become more aware of your posture, which is noticeable not only when sitting, but in your entire movement sequence.

Basically a good chair, but quite expensive.
We ordered the chair for our son in second grade because he could never sit still on a normal chair and was very unfocused when doing his homework. With the Balimo stool, he moves unconsciously to find his balance and thus learns better.
Compared to other chairs, it is very expensive to buy, which is probably not justified by the swivel joint. You can clearly hear the seat strike and this should be optimized.

Satisfied all round!
Very prompt delivery! The stool arrived within two days. It would actually have been even more comfortable with padding. A super health chair....
I knew the chair from a friend and finally ordered it.... it's unusual for the body and after about 20 minutes (now at the beginning) I notice my back muscles.... but that's the point of it.... and I think it's also great for my constant ISG blockages... the delivery was super fast... and the chair looks great (in wood and green cover)

As I have severe problems in my lumbar spine and with my sciatica, I came across the Balimo. My conclusion after 2 weeks is that I won't be giving it back. I now have it in the office and thanks to sitting in motion, my back feels much better and my sciatica is also at rest. I also sit much more relaxed on my horse. Only the seat is too hard for a full day in the office, so I now have a thin cushion on it as padding 🙂
