Healthy sitting is on seats with little upholstery, as the pressure on the ischial tuberosities stimulates the deeper back muscles - in addition to the pelvic movement, which is completely free on the chair.
For the first 20 years, BALIMO® was only available with a standard seat with little padding. As sitting times have increased in recent years, it is uncomfortable for people with sensitive buttocks to sit on hard surfaces for very long periods. The new "soft upholstery" available in the range can provide a solution here by doubling the amount of upholstery foam. The pressure on the ischial tuberosities is still present, but is significantly less.
